problems playing mpeg file... how to fix broken mpeg files?

    i have downloaded some mpeg files, but when i try to play them, program shows that it is 1 minute in length, but the real length of it is 25 minutes! what's the problem? how do i fix such mpeg files? i have already tried vcdgear's 'fix mpeg' function and it didn't help.

    Well I use a program called "Womble Mpeg2VCR" and it has a Feature called "Gop fixer" it Fixes the Time code in the audio and Video and Fixes any Gop errors, I have had success with files that have the same Problem as you described but you Gotta Realize some Files Just can not be Fixed...Cheers
