Being a Newbie and not really too knowledgable regarding Blu-ray, I have a question: I just bought a Sony BDP-S300 play and I've read someplace about "upconversion". Does this mean that when you play regular DVDs Not HD or BluRay, the picture quality is improved? I hope this isn't a dumb question, but as I said, I don't much about this subject. I have a Sony Wega 50in 1080i Tv. If indeed this is the case, How do I go about setting the player to recognize this function?
    thanks in advance

Thanks for the input. Now, is there a setting that I have to make on the DVD player or is it automatic?
    thanks again
