When I went to plug in my external harddrive today ( comstar 320 gb )
it said something about a power surge, and now it won't recognize at all.

is there any way to fix this, or to get the data off the external?
there are pieces of information in that external that i need.

    Any help is appreciated.

    cheers.

take the drive out of the enclosure if not under warranty & connect internally in the pc as a slave.
