I Finally had the money to get a 360 it has a benq and i followed a guide i screwed up and lost my orig.bin on the guide i read it didnt say a word about it, it said write your key down that was it, i tryed to reflash a few times the drive now has no firmware at all any help would be nice i didnt even have my 360 a week i tryed to find it on google no luck

well, did you write the key down like the guide said?
because if you did all would not be lost, you could use firmwaretoolbox and insert your key in and make a orig.bin.
if you didnt write it down and you have no firmware at all on the drive than your pretty much screwed.
if you used iprep than look in that directory and see if by chance you have something in the backup folder.

i did write it down firmware tools said not a vaid 16 byte key. i erased my usb drive a few times so its gone. i read elsewhere if someone would hook me up with a orig.bin it would work

i looked in iprep folder in my program files there is one BenQ-CFW.bin
i loaded that in firmware tools i hit replace key and got a bunch of 7s

well congrats, you now have a 400 dollar paper weight, as someone elses orig.bin will not work for you. what is the 'key' that you wrote down, like letter for letter, number for number, ill run it through my FWTB and see what it says.

If you lost your original key then you're SOL. The only way to get it working again would be to replace it with another xbox key. Which would ruin the other console, so I highly doubt anyone here is willing to ruin their console to help you out.

first of all username, If you lost your original key then you're SOL whats sol mean? i did get a key through firmware tools i redid iprep
added the orig.bin in the corret folder and renamed it to benq-ofw.BIN
and i tryed to flash it again the 360 is flashing lights around the on switch. when i do dben and my searil number it say already there so i try fben and the numbers it says benq-ofw.BIN
doesnt exsist

and by the way if i did get a orig.bin from somebody and ran it threw firmware tools it would give me another key number so there isnt any issue of ruining anyone elses 360

You are wroung here,The key from someone's xbox wont work,the dvd drive and mother board are married,so therefore wont work.Unless you can hack your mother board , but if you could do that then you wouldn't need somebody else's key cause you could dump your orig.Unless he can find his orig key that he wrote down it is junk.I think your thinking about the infectious chip and it reads the key from the drive Also,so even having that wouldn't do him any good as of now.I could be wroung, please correct me if I am.

No you're probably right, I thought there was a way of injecting someone elses key but I guess I'm mistaken. Either way he's got a 20lb bookend.

Ive got the same problem as you, the dvd key number must be stored in the xbox somewhere to use with referencing with the drive...so there must be a way of finding it!! i just dont have the technical knowledge to do it! i find it hard to believe that if you mess up the drive it screws the xbox!
the real sick thing is im gonna have to buy a new xbox and flash the rom again!! (i know where it went wrong b4-deactivate all ata devices in bios and it works perfect!!) suppose il have to keep the dead one on ice until someone figures out how to retrieve the key, then sell it on!

He will just take your money. The key is stored in 2 places, the drive firmware and encrypted in the cpu. Nobody has broken the encryption so....

Team Xecuter and infectus can't do what this guy claims, so how does he do it?? He can't, plain and simple. By all means give him your working drive and £50. You won't hear from him again..

I dont know the procedure but it involves desoldering a chip on the dvd and reprogramming a key. I get what your saying about the encyrption tho, I found a homemade device that displays hdd key so i think it will be a matter of time b4 its cracked.but what happens if your out warranty and the drive dies, microsoft the only ones that can put it right? Il send my xbox to this guy, even if he cant doit ive only lost postage! so i aint got too much to loose, and if he sorts it i sell it, so i wont loose out too much. Im off to buy another xbox now....>;(
