Hey all, Im sure this subject has been answered before, but having trouble finding an answer. I have a "video clip" file that I have been trying to play for a awhile; I have used VLC (seems like its trying to play, but only runs for about 4 seconds with a black screen and no sound, 700mb file), windows media player (codec error), and quicktime (nada). I have the xvid codec and various others installed on my comp, all other file formats work, except for this mysterious "video clip" file format. HELP PLEASE!!!!
Try loading it into VirtualDub. If it loads, click 'Video' 'Direct Stream Copy' then 'File' 'save as AVI' http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm If it doesn't load, drag the file onto 'GSpot' and see which codecs it needs. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm
Hmm, virtual dub didn't work, and GSpot reported errors as well; maybe its just a corrupted file? BLARG!!!!
