    Hi people,
I'm using Audacity to record on my laptop, my mixes on my DJ setup. My problem is every time i record it comes out distorted all fuzzy n crackles. I pluged phono leads into back of my mixer(REC), and other end into my micro phone port. Ive tried all settings on Audacity, but nothing seems to work! I know all leads in right holes, it records music, but when i play recording back its fuzzy distorted just horrible. Anyone got any ideas, be great if someone could help me out. Cheers guys :)

The output of a mixer is much too high (strong) for a microphone input. You either need a 'Line Level' input or an attenuator to knock the signal level down. Audacity has 'VU' meters to help setting the levels, use them. (set the recording level around -6 or so)...
