I am having trouble with the computer not recognizing the drive and it has been suggested that the board on the ata hdd is bad and that I can replace it with a similar one.
Only problem is the extra hdd that I have are sata and not ata hook ups.
I was wondering if it is possible to change from one to the other and then run the ide cable from the hdd to the extra hook up for an additional burner on the board so I do not have to change the board itself?

When you turn this computer on, it tries to read from the optical drive then says PXE-E61 media test failure, check cable. Done that and cable is fine
