Your burn speed (2.4X) and layer break are correct (1,913,760). What media are you using? verbatim, hp, memorex, etc.

Media used is Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x. The media code is given in Imgburn log file.
Could this be a problem;
I 11:03:15 Source File Volume Identifier: XGD2DVD_NTSC
I 11:03:15 Source File Volume Set Identifier: 34672923
I 11:03:15 Source File Implementation Identifier: Sonic Scenarist 3.1
Iso was checked with DVD mulleter and everything was OK.
The image is PAL, and console is PAL.
Volume source identifier shows "XGD2DVD_NTSC", but that came from Imageburn and loaded ISO automatic.

could be, but could not be. if you have a spare verbatim, try the burn again, just to see if it was a dodgey fluke...

My bad, still getting int 360 scene. Though I just remembered something.
The first game I burned and tested was Condemned:Criminal Origins (NTSC). Got the same error as you did and then I realized it wasn't stealth patched. Ixtreme FW won't play stuff that isn't stealth patched, if I'm not mistaken. Check to see if it is ixtreme compatible with xdvdmulleter.

XDVX Mulleter confirms it is iXtreme compatible!
XGD2DVD_NTSC is what I also get when an original Halo 3 is in a PC drive, so that is not the issue!

Hey, I'm having the same problem with my new 360 system. I just got it modded this week and none of my old backups that worked perfectly on my old system will work on this new one. Every game it says "To play this disc, Put it in an xbox 360 console" every game I ripped using a Samsung drive with the program ISOBUSTER, then extracted the SS by using DVDINFO PRO, and merged the two with xbox 360 merger, and burnt the .dvd file with cdclone. All dvds are Verbatim Double layer DVD+R DL 8.5GB. Is it the programs I used? crap media? Im not sure what to do. If anyone has any input on this please feel free to help out

Are you running the same firmware as the old system? It could be due to the laser having a higher resistance setting. You could adjust the POT, but first I'd suggest trying to reburn one of your backups at 4x.
I dont skinny dip...... I chunky dunk.

Ok, I ripped and burnt a new backup of NDS: Carbon, using Xbox backup creator I ripped the game then extracted SS, PFI, DMI sectors and converted to split vid,(no idea what that does) then I burnt the .dvd file with imgburn at 2.4x on a verbatim dvd+r DL and everything works. Sooooo does anyone who what I did to make it work? just different format?

Could there be an issue with LG GSA-4163B burner not burning properly?

I found this and can't see why your current setup isn't working for you.
-You set the proper layer break (1,913,760)
-You set the booktype to DVD-ROM
-Check the .iso with XDVD Mulleter
-Burned on verbatim @2.4X
Maybe you should try another game?
Edit: I use DVDInfo pro to set the booktype to DVD-ROM. Don't know if it matters though as Imgburn lets you do this as well.

Thanks for all your replays. I tried to burn the same game with alternative firmware for 4163b and ended up with another coaster. Console obviously can not read game data due to the way it was recorded.
I think it is time to move on to PIONEER DVR 215D.One cake of Verbatims cost as much as a new burner. Are there any issues with PIONEER DVR 215D ?

Hey guys, i just bought another xbox 360 off of ebay. This console had a open tray error. So i took the console apart and noticed that the little magnets that sit in the dvd spindle were stuck to the top of the plate that holds the cd down. I didn't put it back togther and test then, i just superglued the magnets back in the spindle right were they were supposed to be. Anyway i figured tuning the pot would help it so i started at 4.33 using the 20k ohm setting and went to 4.20. 4.20 gave me a error that said "To play this disc, put it in an xbox 360 console". I went from 4.20 to 4.0 to 3.8 to 3.7 and went back to the original 4.33. I still get the same error.
I planned on buying another laser for this 360 but i don't know if that would solve this problem. All the troubleshooting i've done suggests that it's a laser problem.
INFO:
H L Data Storage - Hitachi Drive
Plays - Cd's, CDR
Doesn't play - Dvd originals, Dvdr's, Xbox originals, or Xbox 360 games.
Do you guys think that a new laser will fix this issue? I'm a bit concerned because everywhere i seached i saw that only modders using a firmware hack would get this error on burnt media. I am almost certain that this xbox was never opened before (security sticker, dvd sticker, and filthy on the inside).
Anyway let me know what you think.

Eh just a update and a bump
I ordered a new laser from ebay i figured 15 dollars isn't much for a new laser. I haven't really found anything else out, i plan to retune the pot tonight just for the hell of it.
If any of you know what's going on or if you've had this problem before then post and let me know.

Well an update for everyone, i recieved my laser in the mail today. I desoldered the point on the laser perfectly. I got xbox originals to play now but the xbox 360 originals are still having the same issue. That's not the only problem though, the tray is a bit too high and the laser is comming into contact with the disc. I'm seriously stumped on why xbox originals play but the 360 originals wont.
If anybody has any ideas or knows how to adjust the height of the laser for the Hitachi drive then let me know.

lol my last post either didn't go through or someone is far to sensitive to be on this forum. So i'll reword my previous post a bit.
Anyway i called MS about 4pm and they told me it's the lense still. I kind of argued with him about it and he still said it was the lense. There's no way it could be the lense since it plays everything besides xbox 360 games. So i've come to the conclusion that it's the board, then i checked here and saw your post.
If you read my previous posts it says i have an unopened xbox. That means it's not modded and can not play backups. I don't get where you got that idea from. Anyway thanks for the help, wish it came a lot sooner as i was talking to myself in this thread and everybody and their mother knew what this error meant.
