Triing still to get my motherboard to stop artifacting whenever i want to play games with my PCChips P17G mb. I have triied flashing the bios before and let it do it's thing, but it's still screwing up during game play. I've went to the pcchips website and downloaded their latest driver. Here is what it has in it: P17G791.ROM, Ucoredll.dll, Ucoresys.sys, Ucorevxd.vxd, UCOREW64.SYS, AFUDOS.EXE, AFUWIN.EXE, and DOS Flash Utility User Guide pdf. The instruction guide is set for a ecs settup(not for pcchips setup). I have made a dos diskette. What i need to do, what exactly to i need to copy to the floppy disk for a boot disk to flash? I know the ROM goes in. Other than that, i'm at a lost. Tried it a few times, nothing has gotten any better.
    Please help.

moved to correct forum as is not a windows issue. don't bother trying to flash the bios as that will not solve the problem. that artifacting is caused by your videocard, either onboard or a card so which do you have? what games causes the problem?

The video card is an ATI Radeon X1300 pci-e in the XP (the problem pc) The games are The Sims2 (freezing, crashes), WoW, X-Men 2 Legends. I have switched out the ATI Radeon X1300Pro pci-e thats in my Vista pc now and it still does the same thing. Vista pc plays games fine. All the drivers are up to date. So this has nothing to do with BIOS then, correct?

that i'm certain. how many sticks of ram do you have because if have at least 2 then try 1 stick at a time in each slot to see if the stick or slot is the problem?

I have 2 gigs of ram, 1 gig in each slot. The thing is, i just got a stick of ram last week and it was doing this with just the one stick. Everything else runs fine with the pc, it's just when i play games that this happens.

    ~Update~
ddp, found the problem. Peergaurdian2 was interferring with my games somehow. Disabled it and games work fine now.
    Thanks
