Connecting a vcr to a hdtv?

    I recently ordered a hdtv but it has yet to arrive but after i ordered it i started thinking....I wonder if you can connect a vcr to a hdtv since vcrs are slowly fading away and if you can connect a vcr to a hdtv can you do it with the screw in cable....i don't want to connect it using the red and yellow av jaks...i want to connect it using the screw in cable like i have it connected with my standard tv and if i can will i have to change anything on my hdtv...can someone please help!?

    your answer is yes but the quality of the picture from the vcr will be very poor because you have a HDTV will not improve the picture from the vcr

    I would think that you would be able to. As long as your TV has the coaxial input. You shouldn't need to do anything funky, just tune the TV to Ch. 3 (or 4) and there you go. In order to return to any of your other video inputs just cycle through them with the Video (or Source or TV/Video or Input) button on your remote.

    Not clear on what you mean by "using the screw in cable", but typical connections for a VCR to the TV would be:
    The R and L audio into the TV - and I don't know of another method of doing this - plus the video which can be the yellow RCA connector or the S-Video connection - if the VCR has one.
    The other connection is the antenna or cable, which goes into the VCR then out to the TV.
