hi, noob here,
Is it possible to connect a printer to the ps3 and have it act as a print server (i.e. when the ps3 is turned off, it can host the printer and other computers can wirelessly connect and use the pinter) It would save me some cash if this is possible.

No. Only certain Epson printers work.
Maybe with Linux installed but then it's not a ps3.
