and the Ativa DVDs seem to be grade B CMC Mag . . even worse that the CMC Mags that Memorex and Maxell like to use . . .
Yes, that's right . . even CMC Mag has several quality levels
Grade A-Barely Acceptable
Grade B-Unacceptable
Grade C-Just Plain Ridiculous
Grade D-Not Even Round

The Office Max sale last week really took care of me for about 2 months. I stocked up with the 3 100 pk spindles. At $20 per, how can you go wrong?

I did that with Meritline recently. 400 TY 8x white inkjet printables. Don't need 16x since I rarely burn over 12x with the remaining 125 or so non printable 16x verbs I've got left. However if I see white inkjet Verb on sale at a local store I might get it depending on the price. Last Verbs I bought (they were 16x) was at the month long Microcenter sale last January. Or was it December? I don't remember...

Thanks for the heads up. That may be the first spindle of DLs that I buy that aren't Verbs. I've been wanting to try it.

@Mr. Pink, if they are made in Singapore, then they still are Verbs.
Stay with the best if you can.

I was at Microcenter a few days ago. No Verb sale sadly. The Windata was but I didn't buy it. Instead I checked out the clearance rack (near the back of the store) & this is what I found & bought.
A Verb silver inkjet CDR 50 pack. Don't remember what I paid for it.
2 Verb 10 pack +R DL's at $21.96 each.
1 Memorex +R DL at $19.96 and they code out as Ritek D01.
1 Memorex 50 pack 16x white inkjet hub pritable for $21.96 that codes out as CMC. Seems to burn & test well in my computer up to 16x & my standalone DVD recorder at 1x although I would not normally buy CMC media in DVD format.
Verb 50 pack DVD slim cases (got 2) at $15.96 each. The 10 pack (don't remember what brand but they aren't Verbs) slimline cases are $2.49 each which is a little cheaper that the Verb packs I bought. I didn't get them since I already had 200 Meritline DVD slim cases at home already.
All of these were like new with some minor damage to the outside packaging.
Picked up some Ritek 50 pack White Inkjet CDR's for $7.99 each. Eight packs worth on sale off the regular CDR media shelves.
Not a great bargain on everything but then I'm not complaining....

It all was except for the Ritek Memorex +R DL's. 3 in a row gave bad results on the 2nd layer with my drive & it's updated firmware so I threw those & the rest in the trash instead of driving back to Microcenter for a refund. Either they are badly made or inverse stack is a poor idea for DL's....
