    Advice, please.

    Can't afford a new MoBo, (I wish).

    I have an ASUS P4P800, P4 3.4 cpu, 4Gb memory, 500W psu...

The old ATI 9800 PRO, AGP 8x burned and crashed.

I use it mostly for Photoshop and some video editing.
I would prefer not to use nVidia as Linux is in the future for this mach.

Suggestions and recommendations for a video card that will extend the life of my beloved PC?

    Thanks...

Truly I would get another 9800 PRO from ebay. I have one of those cards and I love it. What exactly went wrong with it? Mine had broken too but I got it fixed by a friends dad. Maybe I could help you fix it. What does it do now if you use it?

Thanks for your advice...my 9800 pro did overheat, even though I had a cooler. It's hard to mistake the smell of burning electronic parts, and the monitor suddenly going black.

I'll look around for another 9800 pro.
