    im going to assume your connecting wireless as most internet connection issues a cure with wireless internet, please tell us if your connecting through Ethernet (wired) or wireless (wireless adapter
    USB or internal PCI card)

    because you were vague i'll just give you some of the possible troubleshooting methods :

    wired/wireless

    go start>Connect To>show all connections

    [IMG]
    a window will launch with the various internet connections you have
    ============================================
    if the icon for your connection looks like this
    [IMG]
    or this
    [IMG]
    it means that your connection is is currently disabled
    right click on your connection and select "repair" if the icon looks similar to the one in the first pic, if your icon looks similar to the one in the second pic rick click on it and select "enable"
    =====================================
    wireless
    if the connection is connecting to the wrong router
    or isn't connecting to it at all right click on your connection icon
    [IMG]
    and select view available wireless connections a window will then launch....
    [IMG]
    find your right network and click "connect" at the bottom of the window (you maybe be prompted for a WEP/WAP KEY)
    ======================================
    Setting up a connection
    If you have no internet connection currently set up (as in no icons in the "show all connections window")
    then go
    go start>Connect To>show all connections
    [IMG]
    look in the right hand corner of the screen you'll see a option entitled "create a new connection"
    select that and a window will launch, follow it through to setup your new connection

    questions, comments, results?
    post back!
