hi. i foolishly formated my ipod shuffle using the windows formater. Because it started when i downloaded a portable version of itunes, because itunes i used to have, wouldnt load up anymore, and throw up error messeges at me. But after trying to send songs to it, i found out it sent only 2 songs, but filled it up with 480MB's of nothing, or some other files which i couldnt get rid of, even when i opened it up in my computer, there was nothing else there except for a few folders with the shuffle files. But now the ipod is completeley emptey, and i cant put music on it anymore. is there a way of making it an ipod again??

You gonna have to redownload Itunes the connect the ipod and restore it using itunes, ipods are generally desing to work with itunes unless you hack it and use third party os on them. Good Luck, worse come to worse find a friend with a mac have him or her format it to mac then when you get home use itunes as you normally would.
