I found a thread on this forum that had a different scenario and solution for the following error. As that thread is now closed, I'm posting my scenario and solution in case it might help someone else. I'm using NeroVision 5, which is the version that comes with Nero 8.2.8.0 Ultra Edition. Here's the error: DVDEngine ############################################################################# DVDEngine ERROR DVDEngine cause: 128 (nmc_processing_exception) DVDEngine source: CNmcAudioConverter::SetUp DVDEngine description: invalid segment format DVDEngine ############################################################################# I went into the video options and disabled "Nero SmartEncoding", then it worked! I'm not sure why it worked, but this feature skips the transcoding step for video and audio material that is compatible with the target format. Perhaps it mistakenly thought the source file was compatible when it wasn't. Disabling this feature forces NeroVision to re-encode it regardless of whether it thinks it's compatible or not. Anyway, it fixed the problem. I hope this helps someone.
I started with an MPG file captured from my outboard Hauppauge WinTV-PVR2. This transfers the video as an mpeg via a USB port. The WinTV2000 software was set to capture video at the "DVD Standard Play" quality setting.
Thanks for the hint. I also got the below problem during burning AVCHD video onto DVD using Nero Vision 5. Then disabled the SmartEnvoding in Nero Vision 5 and it worked!!!
