Right now I have Windows XP Pro installed on my built computer. I saw that installing OS X on a PC is possible. I was just wondering if I could have both XP and OS X on two different HDDs bootable. Here's my computer if that helps: -Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E6600 -GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard -G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model F2-4200PHU2-2GBNT -2 DVD/CD drives and 5 different HDDs (ATAs & SATAs). Didn't know which forum to post it in. sorry.
yer u should b able 2 install it on the other hard drive if its formated to the os u want then u just need a program 2 select witch 1 at start up i hope i helped
I installed OS X on my second harddrive.. I can't get past the gray apple splash loading screen though.. it freezes on that screen.. I got into it by setting it up on the BIOS to boot from the OS X hdd.. I also tried booting it with and without the dvd in the drive but that didn't help.. any ideas??? what do you mean by switching OSs with a program?

hi people i have done this before what you are trying to do. so you cant gwt your OS X install to boot so i would recermend that you try a safe boot by pressing F8 when you trun your computer on. then you will need to type this command -V -X this will do a verbose safe boot if you still can get it to boot ten look at all the writing when the verbose and look for KERNAL PANIC. if you see this you might of installed the wrong patchs. now if that dose not boot your mac install then you will need to get back into windows xp. to do this you will need to get a windows 98 boot disk and do do the command FDISK/MBR then set you windows xp partition as the primary boot partition and that should get you into your windows xp. @johney69 what you say about that program the dual boot OSES is very true i use acrnis disk director for do dual boot and it works with windows xp and mac os x86 very nice , and that would be a peace of sound advice.
