Need Help Getting Video from Digital camcorder to computer

    I have a Sony Digital 8 its around 4 yrs old and I dont have the software disc for it anymore and have a video on it that i want to put on my computer....I have tried to find the software online but no luck when I plug my usb cord in it will recognize the new harware but I cant get it to do anything else. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks

    Your Sony D8 camcorder should also have a firewire port on the side. I suggest purchasing a firewire card (around $10 online) and use software like Pinnacle Studio DV or Adobe Premiere to capture it and encode it to mpeg2.

    Don't bother with the USB.
