430 w PSU able to run GeForce 8800 GTS?

    im looking into purchasing a GeForce 8800 GTS card as an upgrade for my system. i have a 430 w psu already, will i need to purchase a larger wattage psu or will the 8800 work with the 430 w psu.

    ps: just in case... here are my computer specs amd 4000+ 64, foxcon board, 1 gb of ram (soon to be 2 gb), 250 sata seagate hdd, ati radeon x1050.

    yes, a 430w psu can handle the 8800GTS. the requirement is a 400w psu.

    the thing is, what brand psu are you using?

    rosewill. i know their rep isnt good, but this psu has been working excellent for a long time.

    members will tell you to scrap it, which you should do. i doubt it'll be able to keep stable power when you add the 8800GTS.

    get a corsair 450VX for solid power, or the 520HX if you want to use modular cables and keep the inside of the computer case clean.

    Rosewill units are prone to fires and extreme damage to PC components more than pretty much every manufacturer. Ditch it right now!
