Gday all, I'm just another teen trying to burn a lot of stuff onto normal cd's. Ill get straight to the point. I have downloaded the latest version of Nero (6.3.0.2) TWICE and I keep having the same problem, I suspect its something to do with the age of the burner or the actual files itself (burner = Diamond Data 32X10X4..I know..its OLD). I will go to burn a CD and it will come up with this error (in pic), and out of sheer frustration try and burn them again exactly the same way and it will WORK! *Glares at burner with evil intent* also - the error log is as follows The files are already on my computer, and I don't know...mabye it is the burner...im really not sure. Well, if you can help me it would be most appreciated, thx
BTW - the actual log is from another time i tried to burn - i forgot to save this one... its the exact same error tho - always is
Download& install ASPI Layer 4.7, then reboot your pc and try and burn again and see if you encounter the same error. If by chance you do then try some free burning applications (burnatonce or DeepBurner) and see what happens. be sure that you're using the latest firmware for your cd burner (if applicable). burnatonce: http://www.burnatonce.com/downloads/ DeepBurner:http://www.deepburner.com/index.php The Firmware page:http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php Go to download firmware>Diamond Data... Shoey
Might also want to give ASPI 4.60(1021) a shot too. It seems to have a better compatibility base than 4.71 but thats just my experience.
Ok, ill give those solutions a shot now. Thanks for your help - ill get back to you whether it worked or not shortly. Thanks again
While im doing that, could someone explain to me what this 'firmware' stuff is? Ive only just heard the name about 2 days ago, and i haven't the slightest clue what it is or how it works. From a first guess id have to day its like drivers....
Firmware is a mini-bios for your drives. You update your firmware to improve performance/reliability/compatibility etc. Have a look at http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
