i have an xbox that was originaly giving error code 07 as it had been dropped which ive since had a modchip installed. now when you turn it on all you get is a blank screen as it still has the original drive installed. can anyone tell me how i go on from here as i have a larger drive id like to install and a copy of slayers evox just lost as to what to do next. your help would be appreciated
get a stock C: and build an eeprom reader. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/357863 i would take the mod chip off and just use the stock bios. Then use xboxhdm to format a new drive. Put the new drive in and mod it. Sounds pretty simple but it will be some work. good luck, if u have any questions i'm always around these forums. Lata
Or since you have a chip installed you don't need the eeprom. Just download AID 4.10 from here: ( I assume you understand torrents). http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/557450#3371151 Make the disk, install your new big HDD, install the AID4.10 disk and go to format HDD and it will do the rest. You don't need the eeprom or the original image to upgrade after chipped. You can even install a clean M$ dash so you can do M$ dash things . Now, you can never go back to a stock console after this, because you won't have a matched console/HDD, but hey you're up and running.
ok so here's my question to you DLyon4 How can he use the mod chip if he sees a blank screen when he turns it on? You would see a different bios boot instead of the "flubber screen" and it would give you options. So how exactly does that work cuz now i'm confused. I guess if ur mod chip is working then go that route, i assumed a black screen ment bad install or bad chip.
Black screen in this case just means the chip flashing bios isn't enabled. (flashbios 3.0.3) Enable bios flash, and make sure you have a bios that is suitable for your chip all ready and raring to go on a cd-rw or dvd-r for when it asks you for it. You should be able to find a bios on slayers disk which you can extract and use to make a bios flashing disk.. PM me if you are stuck for a bios.., though it would help to know what chip you have fitted as the bios files are different sizes.
