i want to update the version of my box to 2.8000 was just wondering can i link my box up to my mates and transfer his version on to mine with a null modem cable was lust wondering exactly how to do it

yes if u have both got digivox.his box hooked up to tv with null modem connected is master box [ with info ] ur box with null modem connected is slave box [ awaiting info ] have slave box pointed away from the other box u do not want to send remote signal to that box hence u turn it away or turn it around,go to transfer section code sw is what u select,with slave box on, point remote at master box and press ok u should see transfer running on both boxes,when finished both boxes reboot,u might have to rescan for channels again and emu to on,after u have done all that we will call u a flasher lol.

thanks for the reply im going to try that with my mates digivox tomorrow one question though do i need my box or the slave box turned on or leave it on stand by and i take it i dont need my box hooked up to the tv just the master box is that right

when u go to ur mates house connect null modem to both boxes,his box is master urs is slave,both boxes on,and just his box connected to tv with scart and co axial,move urs away so when u point remote at his box to transfer info [ say a foot away ] his box only responds to remote

ive uploaded the new software onto my box it ont took two mins thanks . . ive still got a couple of problems now . . when i put up the epg the listings are flickering every 3 seconds and sometimes whats on one channel will end up saying its on another channel its sort of getting jumbled up . . and also there are still a few channels that are unwatchable when i do a scan i some times get 167 programs but im only getting 144 now but when i do get most of them some of them come up no signal at times and other times they come in perfect really starting to think it must be my pipe . . any help would be great maybe i should have started another thread with this

check ur scart connections and coaxial as i had same problem

joey,click on downloader to open,app is selected,com 1 is selected,click on browse to find bin file vers 2.800-2api,click on that file,that puts it into loader,click open button,that brings u back to loader with file attached,connect null modem cable to pc and digivox,switch on digivox let it boot up,then press download,if u select correct com port download will work,wait till it says finished and box reboots before u remove cables,if com 1 does not work try remaining com 2,3,4,if all com ports do not work u might have wrong cable
