If you have a way of adjusting the aspect of your TV screen, then perhaps you can accommodate the long texts. Other than that, I don't think there is any way you can manipulate permanent fansubs or any permanent subs for that matter as they are now part of the video.

is there a way to rip the subs off a video file, then edit them, then add them?

Another bold move would be to crop out the texts. However, this would have an effect on the video as some hazy parts will stand in the area where the subs used to be. I presume this file plays fine in your PC? If you ask me, it'll be more sensible to watch it on your PC instead.

Are you implying you encoded the AVI to DPG?

hey i need help on this also

i got the same problem, i have tried changing the aspect of the video to 16:9 but the words were to small to read. Also when i play it on the Computer the subs are in perfect size as opposed to playing on the dvd they seemed to have gotten smaller.
