hope somone can help me,i was looking on ebay and saw a starview box ..can any one tell me wether i should by one... do they work and what kind of lifespan do they have.....thanks

Before you buy from fleabay you'd want to make sure it's a genuine box and not a clone box and whether it comes with the latest firmware installed on it or not for your location eg ver4.50 for Ireland or 4.51 for the UK.
They last you for a long time I've mine nearly 2 years and have never had one thing go wrong with it.
