i really dont get what it is, does it allow you to get free wifi or does it allow to to broadcast incoming connections through your mac outwards? Some please explain in simple format.
It is apples version of WiFi. They also have airport Extreme. Express is wireless B-G and Extreme is Wireless b-g-a-n
Airport express is designed to stream from itunes to speakers anywhere in your house it can also be used to share a printer and a network connection how ever you will need a airport base station for all the features to function.
NO.. NO.. NO! The airport express is a base station. You can use it as your Primary wireless router if you wish. (That is if you don't need the extra LAN ports) So. With the airport Express you can make your internet connection wireless. You can stream music from any computer connected to the network to it's connected speakers, and you can use it as a Print server!
I tried this as well to use the airport express as a wireless adapter but everytime i tried to connect to one it would fail or auto launch itunes. Basicly i found with the airport base station you can use the airport express as a much more powerfull wireless adapter then just a stand alone adapter. It works a lot better and easier to connect to.
