vista very irritating

    hi ive been having this problem with my folders they keep opening in another window and its very annoyting im using a laptop and ive chosen to open folders in same window in the folder options bt it keeps doing this same thing it is starting to annoy me alot.

    hawo, um...ok.Im doing this on XP so i hope its kinda the same on vista. Go to Control panel then Folder options, then in the "Browse folders" section, click "open each folder in the same window"

    Next pointless suggestion!

    Try going to the 'Folder Options > General' as suggested above but this time try 'Reset Defaults' then restart the computer, go back and choose the settings you want.

    Worth a try.

    As you say you have already confirmed 'Open each folder in the same window' it may be a problem with the part of the windows registry that handles the 'Open' command for Windows Explorer...

    tried that but it just wont work the only way i can actuall get it to open is by right clicking on that folder and clicking explore otherwise it just keeps opening it up in a new window. please help
    P.S i used a cc cleaner program that suppost to clean up the registry and fix its errors.

    I also used tune up utilities and it cleaned the registry and defragged the registry and i cannot undo the changes please help i really need help.
