PLEASE HELP!! DESPRATE!! Vista folder error!

    Windows vista, whenever i make a new folder anywhere it has to be the default "new foler" name, if i try to name it it says "the file or folder does not excist" please help!!!! i need to be able to make folders!!
    Windows vista buisness and that ntfs file system
