hi ,

i have several dvd+r that is on really cheap dvd +r , before i found this awesome site . i am ashamed to say memorex and tdk both cmc mag . they are not giving me problems but i wanted to backthem up before they do . i am not for sure what method would be best to use , these are the 2 ways i have been using ,

1- dvd decrypter iso mode , file and then burn

2- rip to the hd with dvd decrypter , then go to imgburn and build a iso image and then burn thru imgburn .

i was not for sure what way would be best to not lose quality , is these ok methods or are there a better way to go about it , or should i just use imgburn and make the iso straight from the disc without ripping to the hd , i have always heard it is best to rip to hd first . i just wanted to make a backup of my dvd+r and not lose any quality . i would greatley appericate anyone's help and suggestions on which way would be best to do this , i also burn at a 8 x on 16 x media . thanks

burning at 8x is fine use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, its the best. yes use dvd decrypter or imgburn writing an iso to your HDD then burn the iso . so ISO read, ISO write. or you can use a disc copier like nero DVD Burning ROM or Nero Express

thanks for the reply , my question is this -

if i am using imgburn , is it better to rip the disc to the hd or should i just use the build section on imgburn and put the dvd on the hd that way , i know it uses fixvts so i thought that was a plus . but i didn't know if it would be better to put the disc on the hd first . i didn't know if using the build section and putting the dvd on the hd would hurt the quality or put the disc on teh hd with dvd decrypter . any help appericated

use the build mode won't help anything at this point since that already on a DVD+R disc , just use the ISO read ISO write mode. yes its better to read it to the HDD first then burn.
