My Westinghouse 37inch lcd tv was expose to intense heat and smoke during a fire at my home a few weeks ago. Although it seems fine physically it is not turning on. I am not an expert on the newer technology used in lcd televisions and was wondering if should spend the money 75 to 100 dollars it will take to have a technician even look at it or should i cut my losses and save up for new one.

Your insurance should be paying for it (fix old or replace with new), shouldn't it? It's usually their decision as to what you do.

Where do you live. I'm in the central U.S. and it doesn't cost $75 - $100 from a local repair shop for an estimate.
