WinRAR 3.62 - Creating .R01, .R02 etc Files

Whenever I create 'multiple' rar files for a game, I get filenames like:

    program.part1.rar
    program.part2.rar etc

and I would like to create:

    program.rar
    program.r01
    program.r02 etc

I run a BBS (yes an actual Wildcat! BBS) and want to keep the extensions in the .rar, .r01 etc.

Do I need to downgrade my WinRAR or can I do it with the current version?

    Thanks! :)

I use WinRAR 3.70 and this is how I do it. I think it works the same for all the WinRAR versions which use the new volume naming style.

Enable the "Old style volume names" option in the "Archive name and parameters, advanced options"

    Like this...

    1. You need to select a volume split size which will result in more than one output file (i.e. smaller than the file to be RARed.) Before you do this, the option in the 2nd picture will not be shown.

(I unchecked the "delete files after archiving" option after I made the first screen capture but that is irrelevant)

    2. Check the "Old style volume names" in the Advanced tab
