Loud noise at Media Player Classic seek

When I skip normal video files in Media Player Classic (any fairly recent version), I get this horrible loud noise occasionally. If you've encountered it, you know what I'm talking about. Like very short but sharp, LOUD noise right after releasing the seek bar at a new location. I have the newest FFDshow installed, but I think this same problem has been around ages also with any version of AC3Filter.

This problem does not occur in other players like VLC or ZoomPlayer.

What's the cause of this problem and how to get rid of it?
