So here's the deal... I'm trying to change the region settings for my DVD+-RW drive for Windows XP. It says I have 4 chances left to change it. I've done all it's asked me to do... I'm an administrator, there's a region1 disc in the drive, but it keeps giving me the same error message "Unable to update region setting. Please make sure the drive contains a region 1 media and you have administration privilege." What am I doing wrong???
There is a 30 day trial version of DVD Region Free that allows a region change without changing the region change counter on the firmware. http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm The alternative is to locate patched firmware, specific to the burner, that makes it region free permanently.
