Should i be concerned?

I think i fixed the white shirt problem. (went to "reset all settings" and started over) but know i see a big football shaped splotch of gray when the screen goes black. I'm on sattelite and when i change channels the screen goes black for about a second. I thought i couldn't see it while a picture was on but then i happend to tune in to Charlie Rose who does his show in complete darkness except for him, a table and his guest. I could see the "splotch" right in the middle of the screen. I think i'm returning it. Too bad, it really does have a good picture. Anyone know what the splotch is?
