hey i was wondering if the 1080i or 1080p on a Philips Dvd player really matters if i am playing Divx DVD's. Well, does the dvd player improve/upconvert the quality of an .avi dvd? Also what's better a 1080i or 1080p or an hd dvd player?
no it doesn't,because your file won't be 1080i or 1080p Yes it will if its a upconverting DVD Player hd-dvd is dead blu-ray won the format war. hd-dvd and blu-ray have the best picture quality but you have to have a hd-dvd or a blu-ray store bought dvd to notice the difference.1080p is a little sharper than 1080i
