Sound, but no video in some avi files

    I recently downloaded a few Tv shows off eDonkey and they don't play any video when i run them, i hear all the sound but that's it. I ran Gspot and it told me i had all the codecs i need. btw i do have the Nimo Codec Pack installed. any takers?

    I have the exact same issue, I think its caused by the presence of multiple codecs but I'm not sure. If I find an actual solution I'll let you know but for now I can succesfully play these files using the Divx Player instead of windows media player.

    I had the same problem with Nimo installed a while back. I uninstalled it and only installed the codecs I really needed and it worked ok after that.

    The same problem has been happening to me for a long time now. I tried playing some moves but all i got was sound, i took the same files to my friends house and they played perfect sound with synced video on her computer, *GaAaHhH* whats going on??

    I suggest you get the latest codec software. I think it's downloadable from the internet.
    I had the same problem, but got the latest codec and the good thing about it is that the video is really clear!

    I fixed the problem a little while ago. I DLed that latest version of divX, and use winamp as my player and it has been working fine since then.

    I had face this problum for many time and the easiese solution is install DIVX pro and every thing will work fine

    Was that a joke? When you say "latest codec" you should probably specify which one...

    Bitcount... as a member I would have thought you would have done a search before posting (or at least posted in a more applicable area)

    I started this thread in january, and at the time, i could not find what i was looking for (wuz a noob then, forshame) anyway i fixed the problem a long time ago and forgot about my post.

    Anyway i was only responding to what i though was vague advice, sorry Preator.

    Lol no worries.... forgive me ... it's just seeing the same bloody questions a billion times.... especially when stickies have been there to answer them or at least deal with them ... ARGH! :p
