hey everyone. I have been using my 26" HD ready TV as a monitor whilst my macbook is in desktop mode. Is there anyway to return all the defaults for both displays? I was trying out different resolutions, and now with both messed up, but mainly the TV, the screen on my 26" doesn't fit correctly or I get a message that says Unknown Format. My TV can 'understand' the resolution just as the MacBook boots but after the white startup screen has gone, I get the error message again. The screen also works at the resolution I want in mirror mode (but i don't want to have to dim the notebook display). Thanks for any help.
You might have damaged your video card if you were playing with different resolutions. What is the error you receive? I would try restoring the V-Ram by turning off the system pressing the power button then pressing and holding Control+Option+R+P all at the same time until you hear the apple bong three times!
