I have a new Vizio VX32L connected to my xbox360 with a hdmi cable and connected to my xbox with component. my component xbox cable has an option for optical audio out. i am looking at upgrading my speakers and have an opportunity to purchase a Logitech Z-5500 THX 5.1 set very cheaply. my question would be is it possible to connect both simultaneously to the optical input on the logitech and how to connect the 360 and continue to use my hdmi cable. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Connect them both through optical? Yea, if the receiver has more then one optical input. I don't totally understand what you are saying here. Why wouldn't you be able to continue using the HDMI cable? Just have the HDMI cable go out the back of the 360 and to the tv. The optical cable will just be used for sound.
the central control hub on the logitech has only one optical input. but my tv's specs seem to say that the optical output is only for the dtv input which means it won't work as an output for my 360. so how do i get optical connection on the xbox 360 and still use my hdmi for the 1080p
