If it's the recovery cd, that came with your computer it will. It will return your computer to how it was when it was new. The operating system/hardware drivers for your laptop will be installed. Just make sure your cd is good. If it's scratched that can be castotraphic. You can use one of the partition imaging software demos (like paragon drivebackup 8.5) to make a partition backup of your c: drive (just in case). It's always a good idea to have a good backup, before doing any restores. Sometimes if the restoration freezes in the middle of the project, it will render the drive unbootable.
