hello, i just dl a copy of MGS3 subsistence and i got all of these weird files. they are not .rar files so i cant extract them. i dont know what file they are, it just say, e-mgs3s1.009, e-mgs3s1.010, e-mgs3s1.038 and so on. this is a 2 disc game so im wonderin if i need a special tool or something. any help is appreciated thankyou!

thanks, but after installation, nothing came up like win-rar did. do i have to open something to make it work?

You should be able to access the .exe file in Program Files, just locate the directory where 7-Zip was installed and run the .exe file.

oooh okay, now i see it, i didnt find it in programs file though, but i see that i can right click the .001 file and choose 7-zip and extract file. will that work cuz i dont wanna mess up the files.

okay i'll try, and i also started dl DMC3 and it has the .001 files so i can use 7-zip for DMC3 as well right?

ok, now i got another problem and i dont know if its the file or the program. this is what happened, i finished DMC3 and used 7-zip to extract, it stuck at 1% and then it finishes like 3 min after. then an error message appeared saying the .iso file is broken, i dont know what happened. any help please...

Download powerarchiver, it will extract the files for you.
I would uninstall the 7zip program first.
That way you will know if its the program you are using at the moment or the Downloaded files.

okay, i re-downloaded DMC3 and now how do i extract the .iso? when i right click, a bunch of new option came, one is powerarchiver 07 - encrypt, is this the command i use?

You just burn an ISO image.
You extract the other files with the powerarchiver.
Is that all you got when you downloaded is the ISO image, or a whole bunch of files.

Ok then right click the first one, like .001 and you should see similar to this.
You then choose extract here or the to the specified folder.

i dont see extract here or anything, all i see is compress with options, compress to "file.zip", and compress to "file.7-zip", and then powerarchiver - encrypt i dont see extract here...

wait, the .001 files doesn't have the powerarchiver icon though, it has the icon that tells you to select a program to open it with.

this is what the files looks like, there is one powerarchiver file, all the rest are 004 , 005 , 006 files, not powerarchiver. do i have to be finished with the download first for it to turn into powerarchiver files?

Thats how powerarchiver works, it always only shows the one file as that. The rest will show up as .002, etc.
You can select it, then right click and those options should show up to either extract here, or extract to folder.
But yes the download has to be complete before you can extract it all to ISO image.

ok, when i finish with the download, i should get a bunch of .001 files right? should all of them have the powerarchiver icon or only the first one, which is .001 bcause right now only the .001 file has the option to extract, the download is not finished though.
