JVC GR-D250 - This is a great budget model with a big zoom range. It is a MiniDV Digital Camcorder, which is one of the best types for video quality and it has a 25 x optical zoom/800 x digital zoom. Retails around $279.

Canon DC230 - Another great budget model. No frills but has a long lens and good video quality. Retails around $449

Also Sony has several budget models including DVD types. Sony DVD type camcorders start at $349. Overall MiniDV Camcorders give great quality video but the DVD types of camcorders also provide quality video and are more convenient as they record directly to DVD.

Could I recommend you some chineses supplier?as we know,the electronic products are very cheap and good in south of China.recently year,there are so many foriegn trade company in China which specialize in the electronic product.so,maybe you can have a try and buy a camera via the internet.
