Ok, so i just bought a brand new macbook with leopard installed. its the newest one...i plugged my headphones into them to listen to music and stuff, but everytime you stop listening to a song, the computer seems to turn off the audio, and whenever you start listening to anything again, it makes this *pop* noise which really kills my ears.

the pop sorta sounds like: ears popping on the plane...turning speakers on and off, that little pop noise. i dont know how else to explain it...but it really is driving me crazy. any help?

I don't have a mac and I don't know what leopard is. It is a jukebox, an alternitive to iTunes?

I also don't know what is making the popping sound. I do know it is an electronic disconnect which is destroying your equipment and your hearing. I suggest try an alternitive to leopard and see if it is software or hardware. Sorry I can't help more. I would advice not listing to music until you solve the problem.

thanks for your reply, yeah ive been looking around for other peoples insight on it...apparently its the soundcard entering sleep mode to preserve the battery life for the computer...

i got an app that keeps it from doing it now, so its all cool. thanks for your thoughts.

It is good that you fixed the problem. The power surge would have blown out everything until it fried your computer.

What is leopard? I have a friend that has a Mac and is technically challanged. itunes sucks and I was looking for a full featured jukebox.

    You got that right!

We both have ipods. I like to use an excellent product if I have the choice. If not stable and does the job will do.

One of the many bones I have about itunes is it coverts mp3s to 128 BR m4as while you are loading the tunes so it takes longer to do something I don't want in the first place. If your mp3 can not play m4as well don't use itunes. ipods are capible of reproducing higher quality audio than what can be stored in a 128 BR file, if you use good ear buds. Apple ear buds are high priced junk.
I pay top dollar for my encoders so that my music has top quality and small size. My encoders are rated as best in the world. The Apple hacks screw them up. My mp3s are way out of their league but that does not stop them from screwing them up. On itunes, to get descent sound you need to go to a losless format. Those files are more than 5 times bigger than my VBR MP3s that sound the same.

Is leopard an OS for Intell CPUs? If so, Media Monkey one of the top user rated Jukebox programs will provide a Mac version of the Intell based OS. With Media Monkey (MM) you post suggestions for improvements. That is what makes it so good. The head developer puts a value and a level of effort to your suggestion. I have seen a high value and high level of effort get rapidly deployed. (Like 6 month to a beta version).
