media player classic powercycles my computer

When I try to use media player classic my computer powercycles. It used to work fine but then I downloaded a virus because I am an idiot and I reflashed my whole computer. Since then when I try to use media player classic my computer powers down and back. Please help with this because I still live with my parents and cant watch any r rated movies in the living room which blows.

 

Try 'VLC' player.
