So I was eating lunch (peanut buttah and J) and I was playing a demo for frontlines or something and sont ask me how but I accidentally got some peanut butter under my faceplate of my elite 360. I man a lot of peanut butter. I licked all the jelly off, but I had a question, So forgive me if this is Noobish in nature, but how can I get my faceplate off so I can eat the rest of my peanut butter without breaking it?

There should be a little lip on the right side. Put your finger in there and pull the faceplate towards you

Ok...not sure if your serious but I'll go on a limb and off my advise. Here are the tools you need
1. A screwdriver
2. A hammer
3. Can of coke of bottle of water.
first put the screw driver in the flap for the usb ports and wedge it in
. then hit the top of the screw driver with a hammer. Should pop right off. Finally wipe down the effected area with water or coke as to keep it from staining.

OK, this is wierd, I was drying out the liquid that got in the 360 with a hair dryer, and when I was done I turned it on and a little puff of black smoke came out of the side vents. Any idea what that might be? Also, whats wrong with crunchy peanut butter?

So you were serious? You actually used a screw driver and a hammer to take off the faceplate...and you actually tried to clean the xbox with water? I was just playing with you man...didn't think you'd actually do that. How did the peanut butter even get in it? You would of had to of jammed the sandwich into the front of the xbox...

I did this once, but it was a blueberry bagel and cream cheese. I find the screwdriver hammer trick works well, but instead of the coke, i used pepsi (more fizzy). This trick worked great for me no smoke or anything. However i do get some pink lines on my screen

Yeah, When I tried the hammerdriver combo breaker on the case to try and get the water out, it scratched up my elite case pretty bad, so I said screw it and just held the hair dryer over the vents by the hard drive on a high setting. I wanted to evaporate any possible xbox 360 threat. So what I dont understand is why I would come to a site that I frequent, ask for advice on a life or death matter, follow the advice Im given, and then be insulted for following through with it. Some of you have a lot to learn about not hurting others feelings.
On a side note, I was playing the simpsons and halfway through a mission I got a dirty disc error, so I took out the disc and it had some dried grape jelly on it. What might be the best way to handle that? I need to tazke it back to blockbuster tomorrow. Thanks for all the assistance.

So your 360 works? The black smoke was just black smoke and the 360 worked as normal after that? If you smashed a PB&J sammich into the 360 then odds are you got it inside the case somehow. Was the drive open at the time? Your probably got jelly on the lense of the laser. You need to clean that with bleach. Dont just pour it in. You need to open it up so you can see the motherboard and all that, then remove the drive. open it and clean it with a towel soaked in bleach. Put it back together and it should work.

ok...i tried to refrain from getting involved in this retarded post, but i cant hold it back any longer. just how did you get jelly on the disc inside of the dvd drive? it is an enclosed box and when the drive is closed nothing can get in it pretty much, perhaps some water can since its not water tight, but it definitely doesnt have enough room for grape jelly to get in it. and your just stupid for eating over your 360 and somehow getting peanut butter and jelly on the backside of the faceplate which i find impossible to do.

dont worry, i was in a similar situation. It involved ranch dressing, a donkey, and my 360. Long story short: blockbuster took my game back.

Now, I would have thought that with the tray closed, I couldnt be able to do what I did, and since I dont know how to explain it, Im not going to try. Im relieved that blockbuster will take the game back.
Also, You know how there is a hole in the disc tray? I thought it would be cool if I held my finger in the hole and pressed the close tray button and see if I could pull my finger out before it closed, well, long story short: I didnt make it. So can I use bleach to clean the disc tray too? And do I want to scrub it, or dab at it with a hankey?

I understand now. Your a child. Thats the only thing that can explain this. Either way your gonna want to scrub. The laser is sturdy and can take the scrubbing just fine. If you don't want to take it apart then soak a tooth brush in bleach and stick that in the drive with the tray open and bang that around for 13 mins.
