bad disc problem after recording, won't allow me to finalize

    Ok i hooked up the vhs player to the dvd recorder, recorded a part of a show, no problem. I didnt finalize the disc last night so i could make a menu today. Well i couldnt figure out how to make the menu so i went to finalize it only to find out that it wouldnt let me. Now in the past i forgot to finialize but even though the disc was ejected, and reinserted it allowed me to finalize, but this time it just says bad disc when i put it in. Also my PC cant read it.

    I have a Toshiba D-r5.

    Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

    Any suggestions?
