    The info in the link that you provided talks only about the I/O read error, which can also be due to encryption, dirty/scratched disc, corrupt data. The OP has a write error.
    Checking DMA and cable is a good point to start, however, a DMA error at writing with ImgBurn would look something like this:

    "Failed to Write Sectors 1993824 - 1993855 - Reason: Logical Unit Communication CRC Error (ULTRA-DMA/32)"

    I think it is an incompatibility between your burner's firmware and the media that you are using. Your burner is a bit old. What discs are you using?

    What laptop do you have? If the firmware in the link provided does not work, try the laptop's manufacturer site.


    I hope is the DMA, that would be the easy way!
