Hi I have used VLC for a long while without trouble but needed something that could play a mkv file without the video dropping or locking up.

tried mpc and it could. However it wont show the subtitles and when I try to switch to the oter subtitles it simply crashes

I have Hali Media splitter, ffdshow and vobsub installed. kind of at my wits end here.

Just installed Directshow and now the subtitles were disabled so now I cant select subs with mpc.
