Even though fix is available, is it absolutely necesary?

Is it just the convenience of not being forced to go into the menu and redo the keys every time they change? It's juat that I hear stories about a firmware fix actually destroying the box

 

there are rogue elements out there giving out killer software so it is better to use downloads from people u trust.
how to fix box please purchase a lump hammer and hit box 9 times on the top and 3 times on side,that will stop u from having to enter codes all the time and fix ur box lol get my drift!

It's a serious question! Can one ALWAYS manually reset codes even with old software?

 

yes u can enter codes manually every time they go

 

is there anything i can do if i rescanned, im in aylesbury and dont have any channels except freeview ones.
