    FACTORY SETTING

    Menu > Factory Setting
    PIN 0000
    OK to delete

Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on

    English > Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit

    STUCK ON 0% AUTOROLL

Press Menu then 1570 and press the "Set Default Key" , press OK and tune into S*Y Sports and it should auto update for you

    SOFTWARE/FIRMW@RE

You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link.

You will need version Cryptstar - V1.4 genuine only firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

You will need version CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.

You will need version 4.50 firmw@re for THE B0X IRELAND found in "THE B0X" firmware folder.

You will need version 4.51 firmware for THE B0X UK found in "THE B0X" firmware folder.

You will need version 6.1 firmware for THE SUPER B0X found in "THE B0X SUPER" firmware folder.

All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked EAMO'S LIBRARY.

    UPDATING FIRMW@RE

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.

Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
    removing the NULL MODEM CABLE.

    The Starvi*w will then reboot

Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV

    MOVING CHANNELS

Press Menu > Channel Edit > 0000 > Press YELLOW button to EDIT > Highlight the channel you want to move > Press the RED button to MOVE > Use your \/ /\ arrows to move it where you want and press OK

Repeat till you have them sorted in the order you like

When your finished , press EXIT and it will save them for you

To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions:
    1. Go to the Start Menu
    2. Right click on "My Computer"
    3. Select "Properties"
    4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
    5. Click on "Device Manager"
    6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
    7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
    8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
    9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected

If you need drivers go here

    http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm

Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your USB Adapter (port * )

Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished.
Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.

I have the Starview 1 and put in the new firmware released on Thursday night. At about 4:30 today I got the message Data is being updated and after about 5 agonising minutes the autorolling worked and the match came back on. I took note of the new codes. Then about 15 minutes later the Data is being updated message came up again and less than a minute later service was restored. The codes had changed again. Twice in 15 minutes. These are the same bastards that only offer customer service Monday to Friday 9 to 5. Of course I cant make a complaint!!!

    Thanks
    They worked.

Can you tell me how you find the codes. I tried looking through the diagnostics on the NTL box. some kind of codes can be seen, but not the ones that are needed.

Can you help educate me ?

    Trev.

    They're gone again.

The NTL guys (yes those people with the worse customer service in history) are probably reading this and seeing that the codes have been cracked, then changing them again.
