I thought it might be cool to start a thread discussing our favorite cross-platform games. I'll go first of course. Now, I'm sure that I'll be missing something with the sub-categories i.e. RTS grouped in with general strategy, but feel free to add those to your posts as you see fit. FPS- Easily Doom 3 hands down. Fast paced, nasty, and simple the way a FPS should be. Console RPG- I personally like FF12, but only because I can watch t.v. drink beer and level up at the same time due to the gambits. To me that's pretty cool. PC RPG- I really enjoyed Baldur's Gate 2. The storytelling, character development, and longevity of it was top-notch. Fighting- This is a obscure one. Street Fighter Alpha 3 was awesome with the whole mess of different modes to play. Third-Person- That's a easy one, Resident Evil 2 Platformer- Prince of Persia The Sands of Time is the God of platformers. Strategy- Roller Coaster Tycoon, I like this game because simply trying to make the guests get on your custom built roller coaster is a game in itself. Sports- NBA 2K8, highly finished and very glossy. Smells like a new luxury car. Side-scroller- Streets of Rage 3. I love the alternate endings Racing- Road Rash. Even at it's age still better then burnout. Like I said before, I'm sure I'm missing a lot, but I look forward to reading your posts and seeing what your own favorite games are.
FPS-F.E.A.R and all the expansion packs(game scares the crap outta me sometimes) 3RD person-Guild Wars Racing Need for Speed-Prostreet(soon to be replaced by Gran Turismo 5) Console RPG Final Fantasy 10 P.S. forgot about Road Rash, awsome game for it's time, God the hours I wasted playing that game
FPS- Halo 2 Fighting- uh.... Mortal kombat for SNES Third Person- Gears of war is fun..great campaign Strategy- that will probably have to be Age of Empiers Sports- 2k8 is pretty sweet Racing-.....burnout is sick but i also like taxi. HA dont know if that counts.
Taxi counts, that's also a fun game! I love the Fear games, as well as the Halo series. For the third-person genre I actually want to change my vote. I did have it as Resident Evil 2, but I think the original Silent Hill was a far superior game for it's time. I never played Guild Wars (do you have to pay monthly for that), or any of the Age of Empires. I'll most def. have to check those out. I hope more people post lol because it would be cool for any gamer reading this to get some options of entertainment they might not have though of before.
Guild Wars is free to play on-line. You just have to buy the game. I agree silent hill was a sweet game, very creepy.
