If it isn't detecting ANY device, you're probably shit out of luck. If you can't even see your monitor, the only thing you can change to get a result are boot options. Ubuntu had that issue with a release of theirs, disabling bootsplash was the solution, maybe your issue is similar.

Maybe you should consider using a more heavily supported, full featured general purpose distro like Ubuntu, you can probably be 99.9% certain someone else using Ubuntu has the exact same laptop, has the exact same issues, and has posted a solution.

Now how do you mean "detect" any devices.. I found slax to be one of the better live distros with regards to hardware support.

    lspci -v

list output from that please and we will see if you have drivers for your network device or not.

Welcome to Linux. Wifi and winmodems are notorious for requiring work to get running, and some soundcards aren't much better. You'll need to identify what chipsets everything run and do a whole lot of Google searching to work out which drivers you need.

Running "lspci" should be able to at least give clues as to what your hardware is, and the Slax forums are probably a better place to be asking any specific problems.

slax popcorn has better wireless capabilities, but live disks and laptops don't mix well.
